DESCRIPTION OF IgG AND IgM RESULT IN CHILDREN WITH DENGUE VIRUS INFECTION BASED ON THE DURATION OF FEVER

OBJECTIVE: In Dengue Virus Infection, IgM and IgG have important role in the immunopathogenesis. IgM and IgG Dengue testing should be tested on the certain day for higher diagnostic rate. The aim of this research is to show the description of IgG and IgM result in patient with dengue virus infection based on the duration of fever in Prof. Dr. R.D. Kandou General Hospital.
METHOD: This study was a descriptive study, undertaken at Prof Dr. R.D. Kandou General Hospital, Manado, in children with dengue virus infection either primary or secondary dengue virus infection from January up to April 2019. Sampling method is purposive sampling using secondary data of Dengue Virus Infection patients.
RESULT: Most group were male (51,3%) and at age 6-10 years old (39,5%). In Primary Dengue Virus Infection, IgM was firstly detected on day 3 (5,9%) and reach the highest percentage on day 5 (35,3%). While in Secondary Dengue Virus Infection, IgM was firstly detected on day 3 (22,7%) and reach the highest percentage on day 4 (31,8%).
CONCLUSION: In primary dengue virus infection IgM was firstly detected on day 3 and mostly detected on day 5 while in secondary dengue virus infection IgM was firstly detected on day 3 and mostly detected on day 4.
