OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to evaluate case reports of acute flaccid myelitis in children and find the risk factors. METHOD: The PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, Highwire database were searched by electronic device using keywords “Acute Flaccid myelitis AND case report Acute Flaccid myelitis AND risk factors acute flaccid myelitis" in June 2019. All journal related to risk factors of acute flaccid myelitis in children were collected. Clinical questions used are "What is the most related risk factors of acute flaccid myelitis?”. Inclusion criteria included children (0-18 years), diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis, risk factors were described, and full-text availability. Exclusion criteria included unrelated topics and study is not written in English or Indonesian language. RESULT: We found 6 articles that relevant. After reading full text, 2 articles were excluded. Then 4 studies met inclusion criteria and followed to the critical appraisal step. CONCLUSION: We found that the risk factors of AFM are male sex and history of atopic like an asthma. The other study also found the related between EV D68 with AFM by preceded respiratory infection.
