OBJECTIVES: The understanding of basic curriculum in pediatric resisdency program which has been designed by the Pediatric Collegium - Indonesian Pediatrician Society become the most essential guidance for the residents during their education. The aim of this study to evaluate the level of resident’s understanding regarding the curriculum standards set by the Pediatric Collegium Indonesian Pediatric Society METHODS: Descriptive - Analytical Research using questionnaires distributed to all students. Each question counts the percentage of positive answer. results are presented in percentages. The calculation of understanding is done by dividing the total number of percentages per question, divided by the number of questions. If the average understanding is less than 60%, it is concluded that the resident’s understanding is deficient. The result of 60-80% is said to be moderate, while result showing >80 % would be considered as good understanding of the resident doctors. RESULT: The average score of residents' understanding of the curriculum standards set by the Indonesian Pediatrician Association is 60 – 80%. Diverse understanding obtained in different levels of residents-junior, madya, and senior. CONCLUSION: The level of understanding of residents regarding the curriculum standard for pediatric education set by Indonesian Pediatrician Association/ IDAI is moderate. Further action is needed to improve their understanding of standart curriculum for pediatrician.
