NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF CHILDREN ATTENDING PEDIATRIC OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT AT DR. CHASBULLAH ABDULMADJID HOSPITAL BEKASI

Abstract: Nutritional status  of children clearly have impact on the child’s health and development  psysical, mental and social. nutritional status of children and determinants of child malnutrition should  be periodically studied to monitor the situation and it is important to give appropriate intervention to prevent malnutritian. 
Objectives: To study the nutritional status of children attending pediatric opd and to know the health status of these children and their relation with nutritional status.  
methods: A cross –sectional study was performed  from april to mei 2019 in pediatric outpatient clinic, dr. chasbullah abdulmadjid hospital. we recruited  180 children under five that attending to pediatric outpatient  clinic were systematically assessed for malnutrition using indicator weight- for -heigh/lenght  z-score, who 2006. statistical analysis  was performed by using computerized programme
Result: A total 180 children  0-60 motnths were enrolled to this study, consisted of 90 (50 %) male and 90 (50 %) female. As per who growth standarts , 10 % , 21 % and 18.3 % children had wasting, stanting and underweight respectively. Total malnutrition case were 53 with a prevalence of 29.4 %. Age group wise prevalence of malnutrition was highest in 0-12 months age group (36,2 %).   
Conclusion: Prevalence of malnutrition in children under five in pediatric outpatient clinic dr, Chasbullah Abdulmadjid hospital was 29,4 %.  Malnutrition is more in girls compare to boys.  Malnutrition was more prevalent in 0-12 months age group children and was found statistically significant.
