Abstract Body
Objective: To review and analyze the current status, research hotspots, and emerging trends in neonatal auditory intervention research in China and internationally , providing a reference for future studies in this field in China. Methods: Literature on neonatal auditory interventions published from database inception to 2025 was retrieved from the CNKI and Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was used for bibliometric and visual analysis. Results: A total of 242 Chinese and 391 English articles were included. Annual publications are increasing both domestically and internationally , though the total number of Chinese publications remains lower than the international count. The United States is the leading publishing country , with China ranking second; international collaboration networks remain relatively fragmented. Research hotspots focus on sound types such as music and white noise, and their effects on pain management and growth and development. International studies pay more attention to neural developmental mechanisms and family-participatory care, whereas domestic studies mainly focus on basic nursing applications. Emerging frontiers include precise pain interventions and non-nutritive sucking. Conclusion: Research in this field is in a phase of rapid development. Future domestic research should strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, broaden application scenarios, further explore mechanisms of action, and promote the integration of auditory interventions with developmental care and family-participatory care.
