Objective: The figure of HIV sufferers at adolescent age in Papua is high. Not all adolescent with HIV get ART. There has never been any research on adolescent with HIV in Papua. Method: Retrospective cohort study conducted on HIV-outpatient patients in HIV integrated service Unit Dian Harapan Jayapura Hospital during April until May 2019. The research data was obtained from medical record during 2003 to February 2019. Data analysis using SPSS program with Chi Square and Fisher test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression techniques. Result: A total of 52 subjects were included in this study. As many as 19 (36.5%) subjects did not get ART. Gender, marital status, age, education, the WHO clinical stage and opportunistic infections are the factors assessed in this study. There is a associated between gender and marital status with the initiation of ART where the P values are each < 0.026 and 0.008. The results of a multivariate analysis were obtained that the marital status (p < 0,030; OR: 11.172; IK 95% 1,269-98,329) relates significantly to the initiation of ART in adolescents with HIV in the Dian Harapan Hospital, Jayapura Conclusions: Gender and marital status are associated with the initiation of ART in adolescents with HIV at Dian Harapan Hospital, Jayapura.
