Background : Childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE) is a severe multisystem autoimmune disease. Neuropsychiatric is one common symptoms in pediatric lupus nephritis. Methylprednisolone pulse therapy (MPPT) has been described as a successful treatment for lupus nephritis while there are significant side effects including behavioral effects. There is no data of neuropsychiatric symptoms in paediatric lupus nephritis and what are the risk factor that correlate. Material : Ten children with nephritis lupus using MPPT (nine girls, one boy aged 5-17 years old). During initial therapy we observe the patient’s behavioral without any intervention. There are three patient with neuropsychiatric symptoms. Data is analyzed to apply statistical methods analysis regression in STATA 9.2 (license). Regression analysis is one of the analysis that aims to determine the effect of a variable on other variables. Dependent variable for this analysis are age, sex, social factors (example: family matters) and the period of therapy when behaviour changes. Results : There is correlation between age and neuropsychiatric symptoms, which is happen in age 15-16 years old. For risk factor of neuropsychiatric symptoms, age is more affected than social matters. There is significant correlation between beginning of MPPT and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Conclusions : Children nephritis lupus with age 15-16 years old and have the potencial became neuropsychiatric symptoms would have behavioral change in the beginning phase of MPPT.
