Background : Over 18% of Indonesian population are adolescents. Major causes of mortality and morbidity and mortality among them are unintentional injuries, mental health disorders (depression and juvenile suicide), sexual and reproductive health morbidities, and substances use. Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital as the top referral hospital established an adolescent oupatient clinic to promote health and prevent morbidities in Kiara Women and Child Center. Here we describe the clinical profile of patients visiting the adolescent outpatient clinic in 2017.
Material : A descriptive study during January to December 2017 in adolescent outpatient clinic. All visit data are included.
Results : There were total 102 patients, most are male (54.9%). Patients aged 10-12 year were the most common group visiting the adolescent outpatient clinic (58.8%). Most of patient contol routinely to the adolescent outpatient clinic due to chronic disease (57.8%). Patients were most commonly referred from Nephrologic division (13.7%). The major reason for the referral was due to completion of immunization. Over thirty three (33.3%) patients were diagnosed as intelectual disability. Two of 102 cases were mental health disorder (acute pshycotic and post-traumatic stress disorder).
Conclusions : Most of the adolescent patients who come to adolescent clinic Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital are male aged 10-12 years old, with chronic disease and incomplete immunization.
