Scuba diving is a method of underwater diving where the diver uses a Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) which is completely independent of the surface supply, to breathe underwater. Children can follow Scuba diving with certain requirements and must attend a special class for training scuba diving previously. Anatomic and physiological factors of the children are also important to be considered follow scuba diving. Children with the age below eight years is not recommended for scuba diving, while the age of eight until twelve years was allowed but should be with full attention. The ideal age for scuba diving is between twelve until sixteenth years old. In addition to the age factor, there are some other considerations such as diving as children wish, in areas that are not at risk and not too deep and accompanied by adults. According to WHO, for families whose children will perform scuba diving, it is advisable to consult a travel medicine expert first. Scuba diving complications such as barotrauma and decompression-related diseases can also occur in children. Also be aware of decompression for children who travel by plane soon after diving. As long as the precautions for the risk of diving can be optimized, scuba diving is a safe and enjoyable activity for the children
