CHARACTERISTIC OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AT SANGLAH HOSPITAL DENPASAR

Background : Child sexual abuse is a type of maltreatment that refers to the involvement of the child in sexual activity. The prevalence of child sexual abuse was trend to be increase lately, which female were more than male. This study aim’s was to determine the number and characteristic of children who experienced sexual abused that went to Sanglah Hospital Denpasar in 2015-2017. Material : This study was using cross-sectional approach, which the data were taken from medical record of child that experience sexual abuse treated in Sanglah Hospital Denpasar Results : There were 88 sexual abused child, 82% were female and 18% were male. Child sexual abused in <5 years child were 19%, 5-12 years were 25%, and 13-17 years were 56%. The sexual abused victim in children 47% experienced physical abused and 56% experienced verbal abused. The perpetrator 84% was the acquaintance of the victim. The sexual abused that coincides with physical abused in 13-17 years old child were 57.1%, while in <5 years and 5-12 years old child respectively 35.3% and 31.8%. Conclusions : Child sexual abused victim was more frequent in female than male. The perpetrator were often people who have been known by the victim, and were male sex. Child sexual abuse coexist physical abuse was more frequent in age group 13-17 years old.
