CHARACTERISTIC CHILDREN WITH GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT DISORDER AT ABDUL WAHAB SJAHRANIE HOSPITAL SAMARINDA

Background : Approximately 20-30% of all toddler in Indonesia has growth and development disorder. No report about characteristic of children with growth and development disorder (GDD) in East Kalimantan. Aim of this study is to find out the characteristic of children with GDD at Growth and Development Clinics (GDC) of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Samarinda.
Material : We conducted a retrospective study of children with GDD that fulfilled the inclusion criteria at GDC of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Samarinda from March 2016 - March 2017
Results : There were 152 patients consisted of 99 male (65,1%) and 53 female (34,9%). We found diagnosis of GDD such as speech delay, ADHD, Global Development Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Motor Delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disability was 41 (27%), 33 (21,7%), 27 (17,9%), 14 (9,2%), 8 (5,3%), 6 (3,9%), 5 (3,3%), 4 (2,6%), respectively. The main complaints were unable to talk, unable to talk and walk, and unable to walk which was 93 (61,2%), 38 (25%), 21(13,8%), respectively.
Conclusions : Diagnosis commonly found in children with GDD was speech delay and mostly found in male. The most common complaints were not able to talk. Aged diagnosed at 3-5 years old. Nutritional status mostly good nutrition.
