Characteristics of Drug Users in Children at BNN Province of Bali

Background : Drug abuse in children is a serious problem that Indonesia is currently facing. Based on research conducted by United Nation Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) the world wide prevalence of drug abuse has been increased. Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) revealed that 4,3 % of student in Indonesia had used drugs. The objective of this research is knowing the characteristic of children who received rehabilitation therapy in BNN Bali Province.
Material : This is descriptive cross sectional study. Data obtained based on secondary data from BNN Bali Province from January 2016 to Desember 2017.
Results : Since the period of January 2016 until december 2017 there is 54 subjects, drug abusers were found for fifty four people (100%) aged 12-18 years. As many as fourty six people (85.18%) were male, thirty four people (62.97%) of drug users came compulsory. The highest level of education is junior high (33%) and senior high school (31%). The most widely used type of drug is sabu (72.22%). Domicile users mostly in the municipality (57.41%). While the most had rehabilitation therapy at BNN institution (51,85%) the rest rehabilitated outside the BNN
Conclusions : This study describes that child drug abusers in Bali Province BNN in the dominance male, junior high school level, and choose sabu as a drugs choice
