THE OUTCOME OF ACUTE MYELOBLASTIC LEUCHEMYA CHILDREN AT ESTELLA CANCER FOUNDATION OF PROF DR R D KANDOU HOSPITAL MANADO

Background : The outcome of AML is still poor, especially in low-middle income countries. We would like to evaluate the outcome of AML in Manado.
Material : We conducted a cohort retrospective study using medical records of 26 children with newly diagnosed AML in Estella Cancer Foundation of Prof. dr.RD. Kandou Hospital Manado between 2010 and 2018. Data collected were sex, age, date of diagnosed, date of treatment, number of abandonment, and subtype of AML.
Results : There are 26 patients diagnosed as AML from 2010 to 2018. There are 10 patiensts refused chemotherapy and all died, the other 16 received chemotherapy. There are 3 patients of APML received chemotherapy, 1 survived and 2 died. There are 2 patients of AML with Down syndrome, 1 survived and 1 died. The other 11 were passed away during chemotherapy.
Conclusions : The outcome of AML children in Manado is still grave.
