Diphteria outbreak due to lack of immunization coverage puts unprotected children at high risk to be infected. Indonesia's ministry of health has started Outbreak Response Immunization (ORI) in several provinces to prevent any further transmission. Material : A retrospective study was conducted in Dr. Moewardi Hospital in pediatric patients clinically diagnosed with Diphteria. The data were taken from medical record between March 2017 and March 2018. Results : There were 9 cases of Diphteria in Dr. Moewardi hospital consisting of 3 males (33%), and 6 females (67%). Children aged between 6 and 12 years old were mostly affected (55%), following by age group between 13-18 years (22%), and two children was under 1 year and aged between 2-5 years, respectively. Five pediatric patients were partially immunized (55%), while two others (22%) are immunocompromised due to malignancy. Exposure to people with diphteria was observed in 3 patients (33%). Fever, sore throat, and pseudomembrane were seen in all patients, followed by neck swelling in 4 cases (44%), while hoarseness was obtained in 1 patient. All patients were survived. Conclusions : Children aged between 6 and 12, partially immunized, and immunocompromised are at risk to be infected by Diphteria. Immunization status of this group of children should be monitored closely in order to strengthen immune system.
